Ein hohles Terrakotta-Objekt, erworben in Apulien im Süden Italiens.
Vor Ort als „Bubulo“, im Plural „Bubuli“, bezeichnet, handelt es sich um ein traditionelles Bauelement aus Terrakotta, das in der Architektur Apuliens verwendet wurde.
Es kam vor allem bei Gewölbedecken und ähnlichen Konstruktionen zum Einsatz. Im Vergleich zu Stein oder Tuff half es, das Gewicht des Bauwerks zu reduzieren, während die eingeschlossene Luft im Hohlkörper zusätzlich isolierend wirkte.
Ein Objekt, das die Atmosphäre der regionalen Baukultur in sich trägt.
