MOKUTUBE is a stretch towel pillow cover by Kontex, made in Imabari, Ehime, Japan from 98% cotton with 2% polyurethane, in one tubular size that stretches from 22 to 44 cm / 8.7 to 17.3 in wide and runs 60 cm / 23.6 in long. Six colours.
The cover is a tube with no fastening: hold the pillow, pull, and it is off in about three seconds. That is the whole point of it — a cover that comes off in seconds is one you will actually wash as often as a towel, rather than at the change of season. It stretches from 22 to 44 cm, so it fits most pillows and cushions instead of one size of pillow.
The yarn is dyed before weaving and then woven loosely, which gives the surface a soft, shallow relief. Less of the cloth rests against the skin, so perspiration does not sit there and the cover stays comfortable through summer as well as winter. Folded in half it serves as a neck warmer; left open it pulls on over the waist to keep the lower back warm.

Founded in 1934 in Imabari, Ehime (Japan's most celebrated towel-making region), Kontex has spent nearly a century perfecting the craft of the towel. Each piece is woven on traditional low-speed looms using over 150 custom-developed yarn blends, then washed with pure soft water drawn from local river systems. The result is a towel of exceptional absorbency, rapid drying, and enduring quality, crafted with care for both the user and the environment.
