Allo stesso tempo, la forma semplice e lo smalto applicato soltanto attorno all'imboccatura suggeriscono anche la possibilità che fosse un piccolo recipiente portatile d'uso pratico, simile a una borraccia.
In ogni caso, è una ceramica popolare sobria e tipica del Sud Italia, profondamente legata alla vita quotidiana.
