Conosciuto localmente come “Bubulo”, al plurale “Bubuli”, è un elemento edilizio tradizionale in terracotta utilizzato nell’architettura pugliese.
Veniva impiegato soprattutto nelle volte e in strutture simili, contribuendo ad alleggerire l’edificio rispetto alla pietra o al tufo, mentre l’aria racchiusa nella forma cava svolgeva anche una funzione isolante.
Un oggetto che conserva il carattere della cultura architettonica del territorio.
