What is the VINTAGE WAFFLE towel?
A waffle-weave Imabari towel by Kontex made from an original 95% cotton / 5% linen yarn. The voluminous waffle weave reduces skin contact for a dry, non-sticky feel and dries faster than a standard pile towel.

Founded in 1934 in Imabari, Ehime (Japan's most celebrated towel-making region), Kontex has spent nearly a century perfecting the craft of the towel. Each piece is woven on traditional low-speed looms using over 150 custom-developed yarn blends, then washed with pure soft water drawn from local river systems. The result is a towel of exceptional absorbency, rapid drying, and enduring quality, crafted with care for both the user and the environment.
