FLAX LINE is a Japanese Imabari towel by Kontex, woven in Ehime, Japan from 100% cotton with an organic cotton pile, in three sizes: 33 × 34 cm / 13 × 13.4 in, 34 × 80 cm / 13.4 × 31.5 in and 60 × 125 cm / 23.6 × 49.2 in. Six colours. The name describes the linen-like line of the weave; the fibre is cotton throughout.
The towel is woven on vintage looms suited to long, fine pile. It is finished slowly with natural water so it absorbs well from the beginning while keeping the gentle softness of cotton. The series is valued for quick drying and a texture that gains character with use.

Founded in 1934 in Imabari, Ehime (Japan's most celebrated towel-making region), Kontex has spent nearly a century perfecting the craft of the towel. Each piece is woven on traditional low-speed looms using over 150 custom-developed yarn blends, then washed with pure soft water drawn from local river systems. The result is a towel of exceptional absorbency, rapid drying, and enduring quality, crafted with care for both the user and the environment.
