Plaatselijk bekend als ‘Bubulo’, meervoud ‘Bubuli’, is dit een architectonisch element van terracotta dat traditioneel in de bouwkunst van Puglia werd gebruikt.
Het werd voornamelijk toegepast als onderdeel van gewelfde plafonds en maakte de constructie lichter dan steen of tufsteen, terwijl de luchtlaag binnenin tevens voor isolatie zorgde.
