Een hol terracotta object, ingekocht in Apulië in Zuid-Italië.
Ter plaatse bekend als “Bubulo”, meervoud “Bubuli”, is dit een traditioneel terracotta bouwelement dat in de architectuur van Apulië werd gebruikt.
Het werd vooral toegepast in gewelven en vergelijkbare constructies. Ten opzichte van steen of tufsteen hielp het het gewicht van het gebouw te verminderen, terwijl de lucht in de holle vorm ook een isolerende werking had.
Een object dat de sfeer van de regionale bouwcultuur in zich draagt.
