그로탈리에에서도 비슷한 형태의 용기를 많이 볼 수 있지만, 이와 같은 보관용 항아리는 칼라브리아나 바실리카타 등 남부 이탈리아 각지에서 만들어져 생활 속에서 사용되어 왔습니다.
본 제품은 적갈색의 바탕, 안쪽에 남아있는 꿀색 유약, 간소한 조형에서 칼라브리아 주변의 민속 도자기로 보입니다.
비슷한 형태의 보관 용기라도 흙의 색이나 유약의 표정은 지역에 따라 조금씩 다르며, 각각 그 지역의 기후나 풍토를 비춘 듯한 독특한 풍경을 느낄 수 있습니다.
