Conocido localmente como «Bubulo» y, en plural, «Bubuli», es un elemento arquitectónico de terracota utilizado tradicionalmente en la arquitectura de Apulia.
Se empleaba principalmente como elemento constructivo en techos abovedados, aligerando la estructura en comparación con la piedra o la toba, mientras que el aire contenido en su interior contribuía al aislamiento térmico.
Un objeto que transmite la esencia de la cultura arquitectónica de la región.
