Antique Venice Painting
ambiantAn antique painting from Italy. A quiet, one-of-a-kind work on paper.
A view of a Venetian canal in soft sunlight.
The brush strokes, taking advantage of the simple texture of the paper, are delicate yet free-flowing.
The pale colors and the decorative gold molding, which appears to be original to the painting, have acquired a nice depth over the years, further enhancing the transparency of the painting itself.
This photograph quietly evokes the feelings of someone's journey from long ago.
