MOKU TECH is a recycled-fibre Japanese Imabari towel by Kontex, woven in Ehime, Japan from 45% upcycled cotton, 40% recycled polyester, 10% cupro and 5% rayon, in a 25 × 25 cm / 9.8 × 9.8 in handkerchief and a 32 × 100 cm / 12.6 × 39.4 in long size. Four colours.
The surface of the yarn is covered with Bemberg™, an ultra-fine plant-derived fibre. This improves both water absorption and drying performance, allowing the towel to feel comfortable even when damp.
Part of the towel uses recycled polyester, a material known for quick drying and low water retention. This helps reduce the unpleasant wet feeling around the neck, making MOKU TECH suitable for sauna, sports, travel, hiking, outdoor activities and everyday use.
MOKU TECH uses black yarn in the pile, helping stains appear less noticeable. The M size weighs around 70 g, making it light, compact and easy to carry.
Approximately 95% of the product is made using environmentally conscious materials, including upcycled cotton, recycled polyester and cupro fibre.

Founded in 1934 in Imabari, Ehime (Japan's most celebrated towel-making region), Kontex has spent nearly a century perfecting the craft of the towel. Each piece is woven on traditional low-speed looms using over 150 custom-developed yarn blends, then washed with pure soft water drawn from local river systems. The result is a towel of exceptional absorbency, rapid drying, and enduring quality, crafted with care for both the user and the environment.
