Shipping Policy
1. ABOUT SHIPPING
All orders are shipped internationally from Japan via FedEx or Japan Post.
For Kontex orders shipped with FedEx, items are typically packed in a vinyl shipping bag known as a “FedEx Pak.”
Orders will be dispatched within 5 business days after payment confirmation.
*Please note that additional processing time may be required during periods of high order volume.
2. SHIPPING COST
Shipping fees are automatically calculated at checkout based on the total weight, package dimensions, and destination.
Available shipping methods, including costs and estimated delivery times, will be clearly displayed before completing your purchase.
Air Packet - Japan Post
Air Packet includes tracking. There is generally no compensation for loss or damage in transit. Air Packet may be unavailable depending on order value or weight.
3. CUSTOMS DUTY
United States, European Union, United Kingdom, and Switzerland — FedEx (DDP – Delivered Duty Paid)
For FedEx shipments to the United States, European Union member states, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, customs duties and import taxes are calculated, displayed, and collected at checkout or covered by us.
Because these fees are prepaid, customers should not normally receive additional duty or import tax requests upon delivery.
Air Packet
United States: Air Packet is DDP. Where duties and import taxes apply, they are calculated and collected at checkout.
All other destinations: Air Packet is DAP. Applicable import duties, taxes, customs clearance fees, and local handling charges are the customer’s responsibility.
Other shipping methods, including EMS, follow the delivery terms shown at checkout.
Other Countries
For destinations outside the United States, European Union, United Kingdom, and Switzerland, duties and taxes vary depending on local regulations.
Unless otherwise specified at checkout, shipments are generally sent under DAP terms, meaning import duties and taxes are the responsibility of the customer.
4. RETURNS, WITHDRAWAL RIGHTS, REFUSED SHIPMENTS, AND CANCELLATIONS
Return and withdrawal rights depend on destination and product type. Mandatory statutory rights take precedence, including eligible distance purchases in the European Union, United Kingdom, Norway, and Iceland where applicable. Please see our Refund Policy for full terms.
Where no mandatory withdrawal right applies, regular non-antique items may be returned for customer convenience if requested within 2 days of delivery and if unused, unwashed, and suitable for resale. Antiques are not returnable for customer convenience where no mandatory withdrawal right applies.
If a shipment is returned because delivery was refused, an address was incorrect, the parcel was not received, or DAP import charges were not paid, any refund may be reduced by actual unrecoverable shipping, return, customs, or payment costs only where permitted by applicable law.
Please contact us as soon as possible for cancellations; fulfillment status and applicable statutory rights determine whether cancellation is possible.
5. INFORMATION
FedEx shipments may be delivered via doorstep delivery service.
Please note that we cannot compensate for theft or loss occurring after delivery has been completed.
Responsibility after shipment transfers to the carrier and the customer, and any related issues must be resolved between those parties.
