Appelé localement « Bubulo », et « Bubuli » au pluriel, il s’agit d’un élément architectural en terre cuite traditionnellement utilisé dans l’architecture des Pouilles.
Principalement employé comme élément constitutif des plafonds voûtés, il permettait d’alléger la construction par rapport à la pierre ou au tuf, tandis que l’air emprisonné à l’intérieur jouait également un rôle d’isolation thermique.
Un objet qui évoque la culture architecturale de cette région.
