Objet creux en terre cuite chiné dans les Pouilles, dans le sud de l’Italie.
Appelé localement « Bubulo », ou « Bubuli » au pluriel, il s’agit d’un élément de construction traditionnel en terre cuite employé dans l’architecture des Pouilles.
Il était principalement intégré aux voûtes et à des structures similaires afin d’alléger le bâtiment par rapport à la pierre ou au tuf, tandis que l’air contenu dans sa forme creuse contribuait également à l’isolation.
Un objet qui porte en lui l’atmosphère de la culture architecturale de la région.
