MOKU TECH Imabari Towel
KontexShipping
MOKU TECH is a lightweight technical Imabari towel by Kontex, designed to enhance the quick-drying and absorbent qualities of the MOKU series.
The surface of the yarn is covered with Bemberg™, an ultra-fine plant-derived fibre. This improves both water absorption and drying performance, allowing the towel to feel comfortable even when damp.
Part of the towel also uses recycled polyester, a material known for its quick-drying properties and low water retention. This helps reduce the unpleasant wet feeling around the neck, making MOKU TECH especially suitable for sauna, sports, travel, hiking, outdoor activities and everyday use.
Unlike many towels, MOKU TECH uses black yarn in the pile, helping stains appear less noticeable. The M size weighs only around 70g, making it light, compact and easy to carry.
By partially incorporating recycled polyester, MOKU TECH is also more resistant to losing its shape and offers improved durability compared with the standard MOKU towel.
Approximately 95% of the product is made using environmentally conscious materials, including upcycled cotton from apparel sewing factories, recycled polyester made from collected PET bottles, and cupro fibre.

Founded in 1934 in Imabari, Ehime — Japan's most celebrated towel-making region — Kontex has spent nearly a century perfecting the craft of the towel. Each piece is woven on traditional low-speed looms using over 150 custom-developed yarn blends, then washed with pure soft water drawn from local river systems. The result is a towel of exceptional absorbency, rapid drying, and enduring quality — crafted with care for both the user and the environment.
